As a Student Information System (SIS) Consultant, I worked with the AHEA team to develop higher education applications, specifically an SIS that leverages existing open-source software. I performed system functionality assessments and gap analyses to inform AHEA’s software development strategy. I also led the creation of business process maps, personas, and user stories for the SIS, and was involved in testing for other products in AHEA’s pipeline.

I managed the department that serves as the primary connection between University end users of technology and the institution’s IT team. I provided critical direction for Rush's student information system, admissions CRM tool, and business intelligence software. Our office maintained the integrity of the SIS and integrated products via oversight of testing, process documentation, and upgrades. I helped guide strategic decision-making in the selection of software to meet institutional needs. I worked closely with University leadership to leverage technology in a continuous effort to improve business processes, meet compliance requirements, and better serve students, faculty, and staff.

As Acting Director, I assisted decentralized college admissions offices with business processes, supported software used to facilitate admissions workflows, and managed the student account creation process. I also oversaw the development of standard operating procedures in the department, ensuring consistent work product and smooth on-boarding for new staff.

At the direction of the Associate Provost of Student Affairs, I oversaw a variety of division-wide projects to meet strategic goals. I led a review and reconfiguration of the institution's international student support services and developed recommendations for future office programs and practices. I coordinated the national hiring process for critical leadership positions, developed relationships with external organizations, and organized communications to the University community.

I provided departmental leadership for the Office of Student Life after a division-wide restructuring. I managed all of the department’s functional areas, including orientation, housing, student activities, student organizations, and career support. Significant accomplishments included reorganizing the housing application and assignment process, transitioning the student events process from disparate paper-based forms to a centralized web-based system, and leading key components of the institution's commencement event.

As Assistant Director, I was an active member of both the admissions and student affairs teams. My role included developing recruitment strategies, planning admissions events, and streamlining office processes. I led the office's transition to a paperless admissions process, including software configuration, process documentation, and end-user training. I recruited and advised prospective students, reviewed applications, and made admissions decisions. I also worked on student support, orientation, and advising for student groups. I helped develop an office culture that leveraged technology to meet strategic goals.

As the head of Residence Life, I was responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and strategic planning for the department. I revised and developed departmental and housing policies to improve office processes, meet staff and campus needs, and enhance the student experience. I fostered a collaborative and dynamic department culture, while serving as a strong advocate for Residence Life with upper administration and strengthening relationships with campus partners. I also remained connected with International Student Services, supervising the office's new director.

I served as International Student Services' first director and was charged with strategic planning for the new department. I developed policies, office systems, and programs that served to support international students, exchange students, and language scholars, assisting with their transition to life at Reed and in the US. The office's support services included orientation, immigration advising, academic support, cultural education, and career guidance for international "Reedies". I advised F-1 and J-1 visa students on immigration and acculturation issues and assisted with counseling students on study abroad opportunities.

I was responsible for the management of a group of residential buildings, including five language immersion houses. My role included supervision of Resident Advisors, student advising, programming, oversight of the area's budget, and crisis response. I also expanded support for Reed's international students through individual advising and the development of group programs.

During my internship in Ecuador, I worked extensively with office staff and area volunteers on the host family recruitment and selection process. I also supported exchange student arrivals and departures and assisted with a US State Department sponsored exchange program for Ecuadorian high school administrators.

I was responsible for the management of a residence hall with a substantial population of student athletes. My position included supervising Resident Advisors, managing the hall budget, programming, individual student advising, serving as a conduct officer, and crisis response. I also served as an instructor for the University’s first-year student success course and provided assistance to the academic support center.

I co-taught 12th grade Humanities classes and an 11th grade college and career preparation course. I developed curriculum materials, delivered lessons, assessed student work, and coached students through portfolio projects.
