• Welcome SCU students into the Pre-Health community on campus and provide them with resources to get more involved both on and off campus• Educate students on various Pre-Health paths for career discernment• Advise students following their Pre-Health path on how to find experiential, educational, professional, and exploratory experiences• Direct advisees to key resources • Assist in creating a supportive community of Pre-Health students on campus • Refer students in need of academic advising to the correct resources to help them stay on track with their four-year plan• Support advisees in need of informal academic support, including providing study habits, ways to prioritize and balance workloads, and preventative measures to avoid burnout

• Advise students on questions regarding Pre-Health classes, career paths, opportunities both on and off campus, and more• Overseeing the planning of all events among 12 other student advisors• Organize a calendar of workshop series in collaboration with the HPPA advising team to address the needs of pre-health students, focusing on topics such as graduate school applications, standardized exams, clinical skills, and career exploration• Assign peer advisors to specific programming tasks throughout the year, assisting and checking in on their progress throughout• Liaise with external presenters, healthcare professionals, and alumni to schedule their participation in the program's events• Plan at least 1 social event per quarter that promotes community building and networking among students interested in health professions, including possible meet-and-greets, networking dinners, social outings, and wellness events• Manage event logistics on the day of the events, including setup, registration, and cleanup, and collect feedback from attendees, and use it to improve future events

• Maintains and updates a position binder with all relevant information about the position • Coordinates with other organizations and the PR Officer to create events that work to improve squad visibility and trust on campus with Santa Clara students• Plans organized bonding opportunities for members of SCU EMS to improve squad cohesion and teamwork quarterly• Organizes an end-of-year banquet for current SCU EMS members, alumni, administration, and SCFD

• Respond to medical emergencies of any nature on Santa Clara University’s campus during 15-hour shifts• Collaborate with a team of up to 3 other EMTs to assist the patient, maintaining a calm and confident demeanor• Perform all skills within the scope of practice of an Emergency Medical Technician within California, such as bleeding control, splinting, medication administration, positive-pressure ventilation, and CPR• Maintain all necessary training and certifications of an EMT through continual education training performed quarterly

•Prep patients for surgery by shaving the surgical site, sterilizing the surgical site using surgical scrub and alcohol, moving the patient into the surgical suite, and reattaching the patient to oxygen and gas• Restrain canine patients receiving intravenous induction and assist with intubation• Tattoo female patients on either side of the surgical site • Draw up and administer vaccines (rabies, FVRCP, DHPP)• Scan the patient for a microchip and then microchip the patient if one is not found• Monitor the patient for vomiting or any other abnormalities post-anesthesia• Monitor the patient for signs of wakefulness to remove the ET tube, as well as move them into their crate• Draw up and give oral meloxicam

• Participate on student panels by answering questions for prospective students, parents, advisors, and other visitors • Lead thorough campus tours as a school representative, adapting the tour to visitors’ needs and questions • Collaborate with Admissions office staff and other colleagues to answer phone calls and emails, as well as schedule campus tours and other events for visitors• Communicate with colleagues and managers to plan and execute large-scale campus visit days
