Spring Semester of my junior year I completed a semester abroad in Greece. I studied at Deree: The American College of Greece. I am working within the HR department to digitalize confidential documents to ensure that important paperwork is organized and secure. I am also working with colleagues on creating a virtual training hub with all necessary documents labeled and categorized in Microsoft Sharepoint. It is a project that involves building a structure for the document site and collaborating with many colleagues to ensure consistency when updating information and categorizing documents.

I gained experience in not only food safety/food preparation but also in customer service. I prepared orders in the kitchen, cleaned and put away all dishes, answered phones, and worked the cash register. I learned how to work as a team in a fast-paced environment while serving good quality food.

Through Generation Zero I learned about New Zealand's policy regarding climate change and how Generation Zero at UoA collaborates with students and staff to build university support for nationwide policy change, expand the university’s existing environmental sustainability goals, and to facilitate educational and awareness projects about climate change. I also attended the School Strike for Climate March with Generation Zero. With the other World Scholars, I was able to spend the day on a Marae and learn about Māori culture. Show less
