CurrentI implement social impact initiatives that support Hoosiers’ ability to live well and age in community in the Cities of Fort Wayne and Evansville. These activities include community outreach and local and federal issue advocacy in collaboration with volunteer teams, organizational partners, and elected officials. • Recruited 30+ volunteers to help implement advocacy strategies and outreach tactics• Oversee direct advocacy and communication with five Members of Congress and their district staff, advising on AARP’s federal legislative positions and issue campaigns• Led the voter engagement campaign for 2018 mid-term elections, which reached nearly 7,000 voters through broadcasts with the Indiana Secretary of State and U.S. Senate candidates• Managed the 2019 voter engagement campaign for the Fort Wayne mayoral election• Directed the strategy to enroll the City of Fort Wayne in the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities• Manage the Community Challenge Grant review process in Indiana, which has awarded more than $100,000 to local partner organizations, and monitor grant reporting accordingly• Plan, promote, and support local informational and advocacy events, including having hosted/assisted with more than 50 events and engaging over 5,000 attendees
