  Adele is a Senior Counsel in Farrer & Co's Safeguarding Unit. Her expertise is grounded in the two policy reports that she researched and authored, as a Senior Policy Specialist, for the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ): on educational exclusion, and child protection and mental health. Adele advises and provides training to schools, charities (from a UK and overseas perspective), and sports organisations and governing bodies, on a wide range of areas including best practice in safeguarding governance; safer recruitment; organisational culture; risk assessments; responding to safeguarding concerns/allegations; handling safeguarding crises; safeguarding audits and reviews; low-level concerns; child-on-child abuse; mental health issues; and on-line safety. She also advised a number of organisations on their engagement with the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse.Adele is the charity sector lead for the Safeguarding Unit, and was a member of the DCMS led Domestic Charity Safeguarding Programme Group which oversaw the implementation of new safeguarding measures for domestic charities.Committed to thought leadership and innovative practice, Adele has led on the development of the Safeguarding Unit’s 'Developing and implementing a low-level concerns policy: a guide for organisations which work with children' - in collaboration with Marcus Erooga and Delyth Lynch (Deputy Head (Safeguarding) Wellington College), and on its 'Addressing child- on-child abuse: a resource for schools and colleges' – in collaboration with Professor Carlene Firmin, Professor Andy Phippen, Elizabeth Prochaska (barrister) and Delyth Lynch. Adele is a Governor of Sevenoaks School, a Board Member of the CSJ, and sits on the Advisory Panel of the charity IntoUniversity – in support of which she cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats in September 2017. Adele was previously a Governor of an academy in London, and a Trustee of a grant-making charity.
