I worked as a personal adviser, helping people get back into work. Giving advice and guidance on job search, gaining qualifications and helping to break downs barriers into getting back into work. At present I am responsible for looking after people who are being made, or have been made, redundant, delivering talks,( sometimes to as many as 75 people in a session), to companies going through redundancies and where necessary, considering funding people to gain qualifications which will break down the barriers they may have, which will stop them from gaining employment.I have to write a business case which has to be robust enough to satisfy the senior management signing off the funding request that it is a viable proposition. I am responsible for ensuring people gain the correct qualifications, building a business case for them to be funded. I have to work with empathy but always have to take into account that any funding awarded must be good value for money. I liaise with all levels of management, both in my own company and outside employers.

I was responsible for running the catering unit in various stores at different times. My last store was in Southend, where I was responsible for the staffing, staff training, catering budget, planning of menus, organisation of events and parties and the annual Christmas Lunch, which in one particular year meant planning the meal for 250 covers.
