Essential Activities and Responsibilities1. CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT• Ensure continuous improvement in all areas of the business.2. SHE RESPONSIBILITIES• Assume responsibility for the integrity and proactive management of the integrated internal SHEQ Audit function.• Ensure compliance with legal statutory requirements, SHE management system standards.• Manage outsourced contractors.3. AUDIT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM• Continuous development and management of the internal audit management system, corrective action process and effective planning of internal, customer and supplier audits in line of customer and Seton SA auditing requirements. • Ensuring compliance with ISO/TS 16949, 14001, OHSAS 18001 and customer specific requirements. 4. MEETING LEGAL REQUIREMENTS• Ensure compliance to all applicable legislative statutory and company standards. 5. RISK MANAGEMENT• Provide a professional advisory and support service to the management of the company on risk assessments profiles and audits relating to company standards and legislative requirements• Ensure company vehicles are comprehensively insured and maintained.• Ensure the land asset value of the company is protected6. BUSINESS MANAGEMENT• Compile and manage departmental budget. Provide leadership, strategic planning and expertise. Oversee company vehicle fleet management.• Budget within set target. • Ensure company vehicles are fully and comprehensively insured and maintained7. COMMUNICATION, TRAINING, AWARENESS AND RECOGNITION• Advice and coordinate training requirements, manage awareness programs, coordinate recognition events for achievements in SHE initiatives. 8. MANAGE OUTSOURCED CONTRACTORS• Manage outsourced contactors - Waste management, Site cleaning, Security, Canteen, Clinic, Pest control, firefighting equipment.• Ensure service delivery according to contractual agreement and Seton requirements.

Assisting in managing all Occupational Health and Safety issues for all sites.Assisting the Divisional SHE Projects Divisional Manager with SHE administrative duties and liaising with Site managers, Project Managers and SHE Personnel on all sites (including cross border) in regards to coordinating of site reports, compiling monthly statistics, compile trend analysis and consolidation of Monthly EXCO Reports for CEO Review MeetingsAssisting in the implementation of a SHE Management system NOSA five star (Integrated).Coordinating the implementation of the SHE Plan for Projects and construction sites Conducting of compliance audits on potential sub contractors and internal audits based on OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 standards.Coordinate and provide support for investigation for all incidents including disabling incidents, lost time, medicals and occupational illnesses.(Custodian – Projects CMB253 system), Reviewing of old procedures, standards etc., and updating procedures, standards, documents, checklists for new Integrated system CMB253 to assist sites (Projects)Co-ordinating training needs per site specific.

Responsible for implementing a complete SHE System (NOSA five star integrated) as there were a non-existing Health And Safety system in place since company was established.• SHE management system developed and implemented;• Developed and implemented Procedures and SHE Policies• Develop and implement risk assessments by utilising the HIRA methodology(Risk Matrix), Baseline, Issue based(critical tasks) and continuous risk assessments• Developing a Training Skills Matrix• Facilitated all legal requirement training needs• Conducting In-House training (Presentations on Health & Safety)etc.• Team meetings and assisting SHE Officer in conducting SHE Inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors• Conducted internal audits, and trained SHE Officer in this respect;• Compiling monthly reports for EXCO• Inform Management of any legislation changes• Manage and oversee SHE Programme• Co-ordinate update of legal register• Conducting of compliance audits on potential subcontractors and internal audits based on OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001.• Document control systems;• Participation in attaining of an ISO 9001:2008 accreditation + achieving positive outcome and accreditation after Surveillance Audit conducted by TUV accreditation body.• Conducted Pre-employment medical screening for all staff• Policies and procedures developed and implemented to company standards• Developed Planned maintenance system and conducted regular internal Audits • Implemented a waste management system;• Advised management of topics that needed to be broached during the toolbox talks.• Assisting in the processing of WCA / COID submissions and returns• Registered with MERSETA as Efficient Engineering Skills Development Facilitator I obtained workplace approval and initiated an Apprenticeship programme and enrolled 8 Apprentices (MERSETA)• Chairperson for the Training committee and member on the Employment Equity committee.
