Adele Myers is the Executive Artistic Director of Adele Myers and Dancers, Inc. (AMD), a Miami based nationally recognized dance theater company that has toured throughout the U.S. since 2005. Myers has received development and touring support from New England Foundation of the Arts, National Dance Project Production Grant, and the National Performance Network. Since relocating from the northeast to Miami in 2015 , Myers received commissions for new dance works presented by Miami Light Project, Live Arts Miami and The Moss Center. In 2021, Adele Myers and Dancers launched Miami DanceMakers, an annual six-month professional development program that supports Miami based dance makers at early stages of their career by offering a stipend, mentorship, networking and performance opportunities. Myers received a BA from Sarah Lawrence College, attended the London School of Contemporary Dance; and earned an MFA in Dance at Florida State University. She also holds an MA and PhD (ABD) in Performance Studies from New York University. Myers was an Assistant Professor of Dance at Tulane University (2000-2002) and Connecticut College (2006-2013) and more recently taught in the high school and college Dance Divisions at New World School of the Arts in Miami (2015-2020)
