In my role as Program Officer, I:-Execute and refine the grantmaking and social investment strategy for the housing and racial justice portfolio and support the economic mobility and community-wealth building portfolio. -Contribute to the implementation of the team’s overall strategy and program priorities. -Maintain a high level of knowledge of the most effective strategies and current thinking in the urban development field - what works, the most effective and /or innovative ways to support the work, and how to implement strategies with partners. -Facilitate internal and external meetings with team members, stakeholders and other partners to design and implement collective efforts. -Write memos, strategy papers, grant write-ups, agendas and external communications. -Contribute to the development of criteria to evaluate the effectiveness of the team portfolio and participates in the evaluation of the results. -Participate in funder and cross-sector collaboratives of grantmakers, nonprofit leaders, and public and private sector partners active in urban development.

The Housing and Revitalization Department (HRD) enhances the quality of life for the citizens of Detroit by ensuring access to safe, decent and affordable housing. HRD implements policy initiatives and makes strategic investments to drive inclusive growth and transformative development in Detroit's neighborhoods.In my role as Public Private Partnership Specialist (Public Private Partnership Supervisory Program Analyst IV), I: - Manage public private partnership projects by reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness and feasibility of programs and operations related to housing development, policy and government grants and recommending approval of such. - Oversee the development, funding, and completion of mixed-use, single family, and multifamily housing developments as well as various economic and development programs funded with tax incentives. - Negotiate contract terms and draft real estate project agreements. - Support the development of housing policies for the City including long-term planning and preservation. - Assist with timely and accurate tracking of activity and spending of City allocated resources and ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations and program requirements. - Perform cost benefit or economic evaluations of current or projected programs.- Identify promising and strategic resource opportunities in both the private and public sectors.- Support community engagement activities related to housing policy and housing development.

Invest Atlanta (IA) is the development authority for the City of Atlanta. IA's mission is to passionately serve the City of Atlanta and its people by strengthening Atlanta’s economy and enhancing its global competitiveness. As Westside and Choice Neighborhoods Program Manager, I:- Managed implementation of the Westside community plans that focused on developing new community resource centers, stabilizing the neighborhood through land assembly and demolition of blighted properties, owner-occupied rehabs, affordable housing investments, transportation, and coordinating neighborhood improvements. -Identified and sustained strategic partnerships that will enhance the economic prosperity of the residents and communities within the Westside TAD and Choice Neighborhoods.- Served as primary communications liaison between Invest Atlanta and Westside TAD, Choice Neighborhood, and Promise Zone residents and communities. -Promoted integrated approaches that provided quality housing, a suitable living environment, and expand economic opportunities for low and moderate-income persons. -Coordinated data collection with other key partners involved with the Transformation Plan and Westside Strategic Plan.-Ensured contract compliance with all HUD, Federal, State, and Local Government laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.-Conducted business analysis and review loan and grant applications for project funding.

The Atlanta Community Food Bank is a nonprofit organization supplying food and grocery items to over 600 partner agencies serving families and individuals in 29 metro Atlanta and North Georgia counties. The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) is the frontline law firm for poor and low-income people. LAFLA seeks to achieve equal justice for poor and low-income people in greater Los Angeles. Autism Response Team, Inc. (A.R.T.), provides educationally based behavioral intervention to children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or various other developmental disabilities. At Covenant House California we serve all homeless youth and at-risk youth between the ages of 18 to 21 with immediacy, absolute respect and unconditional love. We don't just help youths get off the streets and away from at-risk situations, but help them so that they can stay off the streets for good.Our campuses in Los Angeles and the Bay Area offer food, shelter, clothing and counseling. Depending on need, a youth may also receive medical care, legal assistance, educational resources, job training and referrals. Our campuses are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
