Once upon a time, there was a young graduate from South of Italy, with a suitcase full of international ambitions. All she wanted was a job that would look impressive enough to stamp onto her resume.After three degrees, various internships, and a few “no’s”, the Holy Grail of careers arrived: a permanent job, abroad, with one of the world’s largest corporations. “This is it!” I thought, ten years ago.From Paris to Rotterdam and London, she worked hard, collected several achievements, built the glorious life of achievements she had always dreamed of. But once she had it all, she realised it wasn’t worth the hassle.Chained to a desk, she watched life pass her by, only as a reflection in London’s skyscrapers. While she kept collecting stars on her chest, deep down, all she ever wanted was to be fulfilled in her profession without having to sacrifice her deepest desires and dreams. Her biggest blessing in disguise yet - her deep burnout - made her face the truth: work should be at service of life, not the other way around.
