Tom Rice has been a Career and Executive Coach since 2013. Based in New York, he brings an important dimension of what is too often lacking in Coaches – real world experience. Tom had a successful 30-year career on Wall Street, including 26 years at Credit Suisse, where he was appointed a Managing Director in 1996 - with senior positions in sales, management and human resources. As such, he has a keen understanding for the issues and pressures facing employees and managers alike, both in normal conditions, as well as in times of relentless and accelerating change. Tom’s coach training was completed at the Newfield Network - a pioneer in the field and he has continued his learning at The Institute for Generative Leadership. Additionally, Tom holds certification as a Career Coach with GetFive LLC. His approach is more holistic than many coaches, by including language, somatics and emotions, as key components of learning. His real world experience, combined with his motivational and supportive approach, helps people navigate the inevitable myriad of challenges they will encounter along their professional journey - whether its professional growth or charting a path to a new career. He encourages his clients to step out of their comfort zone and to evolve as leaders, by increasing their awareness of themselves, their team members and their ever changing circumstances. Tom’s coaching practice has largely been focused on working with individuals in business, non-profit and the educational sector, with the goal of increasing their personal effectiveness. Wherever he can, he includes helping his clients to become better leaders by becoming better coaches themselves.Tom is a member of the International Coaching Federation.
