Often focused on: challenging and advising programme, collating data, monitoring spend of programme, tracking benefits of programmes, supporting capability & resource management., identifying dependencies (project – project), maintaining registersPORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT OFFICE: - Permanent function balancing the portfolio – Are we investing in the right things; prioritising based on strategic objectives – most value (benefits), providing oversight, scrutinising, challenging; enabling the right mix of projects and programmesCENTER OF EXCELLENCE: - Permanent function that sets standards for Project Managers, provides training/coaching, assurance, templates, knowledge management., skills, promotes best practice. This function can be merged into Portfolio or Programme Management Office.
