Senior Cloud Engineer
Current• Part of the Cloud team in charge of 30+ clusters in 18 locations across the globe on AWS.• Used CloudFoundry, Docker, Python, Golang, Nginx, PostgreSQL, Terraform, Puppet, Jenkins, Datadog, Grafana, and GitLab• Moved the company's central and customer-facing infrastructure from the data center to AWS using Puppet, Terraform, and btrfs. Built a highly available, scalable, and disaster recovery compatible infrastructure on AWS.• Developed an internal automation solution in Python that saves over 1000+ hours per year (including on-call and normal shift time).• Automated maintenance procedures in Golang, interacting with the customers for tens of thousands of containers and PostgreSQL databases.• Resolved the recurrent tasks and problems. Consequently, for weeks in a row, there were no on-call alerts. 65% fewer on-call alerts and 85% fewer customer-reported issues on an annual basis• Hundreds of thousands of dollars in cost savings were achieved by optimizing services in the cloud and establishing collaboration across teams and departments.• Implemented code standards, expanded the number of unit tests, and added integration tests to enhance the development process. Thus, each new version of the product was thoroughly tested and reliable.• Provided assistance to different departments in the company regarding high availability, Linux, container internals, and Linux Kernel process management (capabilities, seccomp, gVisor, etc.).• Resolved JVM issues, performance bottlenecks, high availability issues and security issues in production.• Took an active role in the recruiting process and quarterly planning meetings.• Used Rust for an internal side project.
