In my role as a Java Full Stack Developer at New Health Century, I was tasked with enhancing the company's platform to provide more efficient retirement planning services.Task: My responsibility was to architect and implement cutting-edge microservices and RESTful APIs to modernize the platform, making it more scalable and adaptable to changing business needs on Budgeting, Investing, Advising, Net worth and Portfolio Balances Services.Action: Leveraging microservices, I designed a flexible and scalable architecture that allowed for the independent deployment of services. I also developed RESTful APIs to facilitate seamless communication and data exchange between these microservices, creating a standardized and efficient interaction model.We r using java 8, Spring and Spring boot at the backend to develop REST APIs.So basically, we have different microservices which usually communicates using RESTful APIs to manage the application or to pull up the data from the databases.We are using the NoSQL DB which is Mongo dB for our application. And Apache Kafka for messaging services with other downstream applications. We have used AWS services like ec2 to deploy our application, s3 and DynamoDB to fetch the data, CloudWatch to view logs and metrics, API gateway for microservices. and we use docker to pack the application and push it to Docker hub.On the front-end part, we have used angular 8 to create few reusable components, controllers using the directives and forms in different web pages.Result: As a result of my contributions, New Century Health improve its services, offering clients a highly efficient and resilient web-based platform capable of handling insurance functionalities and meeting the diverse requirements of retirement planning. My dedication to innovation and technical excellence played a pivotal role in New Century Health success as a prominent player in the industry.
