By December 2011, we had implemented PeopleSoft Finance across FedEx India. In 2011, I travelled across India, training approximately 300 employees from various departments in FedEx Finance & Expense policies. We also supported an internal merger & restructuring in 2012 & 2013. While leveraging on prior experience for policy & systems integration was rewarding, it was the people integration that was most fulfilling. Addressing employee concerns (from both - the acquired & acquirer company) and following this up with concrete actions has resulted in an integrated & stable controller’s department – well positioned on its journey to become ‘best in class’ in the months ahead.

Reporting to the Accounting Policy Director for the BU, my responsibilities included providing USGAAP policy guidance as well as requesting, analyzing and consolidating various risk assessment and finance reports.In Cummins, working with the Accounting Policy Director, I rolled out a forecasting checklist / template and a Finance Functional Excellence Report. The forecasting checklist assisted the finance departments in reporting earnings guidance by avoiding common pitfalls in forecasting. The Finance Functional Excellence (FFE) Report evaluated entities on budgeting, cash & credit management & accounting. Finance Departments across the BU were ranked quarterly on FFE ratings - an objective performance measurement system.
