Communications Engineer
Current• Lead engineer on large scale projects- REFCL, Battery Charger replacements & Terminal and Zone Sub rebuilds.• Responsible for estimating project costs and resource allocation to forecast budget requirements for major projects.• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to determine the appropriate solution that meets project requirements.• Participate in the development of high-level stations designs, project scopes and business cases.• Manage, plan, monitor, and report on key project engineering goals from conception through implementation.• Develop technical solutions/architecture to meet customer requirements. Compiling Bill of Materials for each project• Liaise with Design Service Providers (DSPs) on design of technical drawings for complex projects to minimise rework and error in design.• Provide direction to Installation Service Providers (ISPs) in the provision of services to ensure compliance with company standards.• Installed, configured and maintained all Siemens RuggedCom switches. Perform all tasks by adhering to Ausnet's policy of Mission Zero and maintaining strict work-safe practices.• Identify and manage risks and implement appropriate actions.• Perform network commissioning to deliver project requirements.• Provide post commissioning support by troubleshooting and analysing faults on the communications network.• Collaborate with multiple project managers and cross functional team members by giving technical support and assistance.• Trained graduate engineers in workstation design and on-site commissioning.
