As a Quality Engineer in Manufacturing and Supply Chain, I had to modify supplied parts and build tools to reduce failure rates of defective parts. This taught me industry-level manufacturing techniques and best-practice. A key part of my job was collecting large sets of data for analysis and interpreting the effect of controlled changes. I have analysed three-dimensional measurements, geometrical deformation heat maps of bodyshells, compared physical measurements with CAD models, and acted on my interpretations by collaborating with different units to implement further modifications. I took measurements all over the vehicles to account for flex under load, dynamic changes, and to ensure that critical parts were geometrically aligned to avoid adverse effects to the aerodynamics.I was also responsible for promptly responding to warranty claims by investigating and testing the claimed defective parts to find the root causes of the issue. This included initiating supplier collections and in-depth analyses, verifying that proper procedure was followed, and ensuring that deadlines were met. My time on placement put me in positions of responsibility which required collaboration, reliability during hectic situations, diplomacy, creativity, as well as great problem solving and analytical skills.
