Conducting on-site inspection of commercial banks and Islamic banks Following a Risk Based Supervision approach, carrying out assessment of various risk areas in banks including Corporate Governance and strategy risk, Credit risk, operational risk, AML/CFT, Market risk, Shariah Compliance risk, legal risk etc. Conducting various focused investigations and Suspicious Transaction Reports.

a. Product and policy review: Responsible for Shari’ah and regulatory review of new products and policies of all the Islamic Banking Institutions (IBIs) of Pakistan and ensure that the product structure, flows and all agreements are compliant to Shari'ah and regulatory requirements. I have so far reviewed more than 100 of IBIs' products both liability and asset-side products besides reviewing Pool Management and Charity policies of all IBIs in Pakistan. I have also conducted Shari'ah reviews of Sovereign Sukuk structures and allied agreements for 3 consecutive issues by GOP. b. Regulatory policy review and Standardization: Responsible to keep reviewing the regulatory environment and proposing suitable amendments/additions in the regime. Also responsible to review the AAOIFI and IFSB standards for customization in line with the local industry practices and adoption thereof.c. Liaisoning with Ministries, courts and other stakeholders: Responsible for preparing SBP's comments on various queries regarding Islamic banking paradigm and industry products and practices in Pakistan that come from ministries, courts or other stakeholders including prominent scholars and researchers.d. Shari'ah Board of SBP and Shari'ah Advisors' Forum (SAF): As part of secretariat of SBP Shari'ah Board and SAF, I am responsible for setting-up meeting agendas, organize meetings and ensuring compliance of the decisions taken there-in. A trainer and frequent speaker in the subjects of Islamic Banking and Finance, Profit distribution mechanism in Islamic Banks and Pool Management, Macro Economics Management, Central banking etc.

Being part of Training wing of HRD, my key responsibilities relate to Foreign Trainings Management of SBP officials in International trainings, seminars, and workshops offered by international training institutions, Organizations e.g. IMF, World Bank, AUSTEC, AGP, ADB, IDB etc, Forums e.g. SAARCFinance, SEANZA, SEACEN etc, and all the Central Banks around the Globe. My responsibilities also include finding avenues to facilitate international attachment programs with various Central Banks of the World and other financial regulatory bodies. I also assure extending all sorts of support to the Member Country Central Banks of different Forums like SAARCFinance & SEANZA on behalf of State Bank of Pakistan in necessary information sharing and other logistics support, especially in Staff Exchange Programs. I also supervise the foreign training data management on the Oracle based database system OTA to keep the data clicks away for Top Management at time of need.
