As the head of three student coordinators for Santa Clara University’s intramural sports programs, I am responsible for organizing, scheduling, and staffing multiple recreational sports leagues. The tasks associated with these responsibilities include hiring and training student referees and supervisors, organizing meetings with team captains, scheduling games and student employee shifts, approving work hours for student employees, and enforcing and reforming gameplay and conduct rules, including meeting with suspended players to discuss reinstatement into a league.

As an Intramural Sports Coordinator, I assist in the management of SCU's Intramural Sports program. I help run training sessions for newly hired officials and sports supervisors. I am mainly responsible for updating league schedules, scheduling staff for games, communicating with team captains, and assisting in the enforcement of Department of Campus Recreation policy regarding participant and employee conduct.

As an Intramural Sports Head Official, I enforced gameplay rules for students participating in Intramural Sports games. Head Official responsibilities include running captain's meetings prior to the beginning of games to discuss rules, acting as the officiating crew chief, and taking charge of all misconduct issues. I was also required to be trained in First Aid and CPR/AED use. Working as an official helped me develop a great amount of patience and focus; I was always able to keep my composure, maintain a professional attitude, and officiate a fair game, even when players became angry and distractions from the sidelines intensified.

For one summer, I worked as a beta team intern at Sling Media. I was responsible for managing beta tests, including recruiting testers, distributing software releases, and verifying submitted bugs. Strong written and verbal communication was key to my performance at this position. My coworkers and supervisors were surprised by my strong ability to communicate; by the end of the summer, I was even put in charge of proofreading user manuals and technical support documents.

I worked a number of positions at MicroVu over my two summers there.As a Quality Assurance technician, I worked with optical comparators and MicroVu’s InSpec software to inspect machined parts from MicroVu’s machine shop and write inspection programs from schematics and release drawings of parts. I am proficient in InSpec software, and have a great understanding of inspection programs in general.While working in the electronics shop , I tested circuit boards and ringlights and assembled electronic components to be installed in optical comparators.As a mechanical assemblyman, I built components to be installed in finished optical comparators. I was also responsible for final inspections and packaging on some machines. I often worked more quickly than my supervisors expected; I would often finish work orders well before they expected me to, mainly because I found systematic methods to complete each task efficiently while keeping an organized workspace.

For three summers, I worked with teenagers and college students from the Marin County area to coordinate, plan, and lead activities at a day camp for children ages 4-9. This work opportunity gave me experience working with children and their parents, supervising field trips, and coordinating camp events. Working with children and their parents helped me develop a very patient and measured approach for communicating with both customers and supervisors.
