A national park administration is a subdivision of State Service for Protected areas under the Ministry of Environment of Lithuania. Administration’s primary goals are to preserve, protect and promote unique natural habitats with rich biodiversity and endemic species. Main areas of activities are wildlife monitoring, execution of national environmental programmes and coordination of scientific research- Developed and conducted annual wildlife surveys and habitat assessments;- elaborated on improvements of national management plan for marine protected areas;- improved department’s environmental education activities and information accessibility;- established experimental guidelines for invasive species management;- attracted valuable project opportunities to restore dune habitats and degraded lake systems.

Nature heritage fund is a NGO active throughout Lithuania focusing on strengthening protected areas as epicentres for sustainable development in the country. Organization work in close cooperation with administrations of protected areas, municipalities, local communities as well as other environmental organizations abroad- Maintained thorough project coordination throughout completion while encountering pressure from regional governing bodies;- executed large scale procurements of value over 160 000 CAD;- successfully integrated restoration trials of degraded habitats;- Introduced novel sustainable uses of natural resources.

Marine research center is a sub-division of the environmental protection agency under the Ministry of Environment. The research center focuses on national environmental monitoring programmes of the Baltic sea, Curonian lagoon and inland waters bodies of western Lithuania. It conducts annual environmental monitoring surveys, collects and analyses different biological, physical and chemical marine and aquatic data - Acquired, analyzed and submitted marine and aquatic data;- participated in criteria and methodology preparations for marine environmental state assessments;- established professional network with foreign research institutions;- participated in sea-going scientific expeditions and monitoring trips on research vessel in Baltic sea.
