I practise in commercial, equity and administrative law, with particular expertise in state and federal judicial review, strata, property, statutory product liability, sale of goods, trade practices and consumer law, professional negligence and disciplinary proceedings, and commissions of inquiry. I regularly appear for and advise government entities, regulatory authorities, multinational corporations, owners corporations and private individuals. I have appeared in all state and federal courts in NSW and have regularly appeared unled inter-state in statutory product liability matters, in particular for defendant manufacturers.I regularly appear for and advise the Registrar-General of NSW, the NSW Crime Commission, the NSW Commissioner of Police, the NSW Commissioner for Fair Trading, the NSW Commissioner for Corrective Services, the Office of the Children’s Guardian and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia in civil and criminal matters. I regularly appear in trial matters, appeal matters, inquests and commissions of inquiry, judicial review and merits review matters, and on applications for suppression and protective orders involving matters of public interest immunity and protected information. I receive instructions from inhouse lawyers with various state and federal government agencies including the National Disability Insurance Agency and the Minister for Immigration, and from the Solicitor for the Registrar-General and the NSW Crown Solicitor’s Office.I have broad advocacy experience, having appeared before the Full Court of Federal Court, the New South Wales Court of Appeal and Court of Criminal Appeal and in superior and intermediate courts and tribunals in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. I was a finalist for the Women Lawyers Association of NSW Woman Barrister of the Year Award 2015, recognising excellence in my areas of practice as well as my contribution to advancing opportunities for women in the law. I am an active supporter of mentoring programmes for both men and women law students, and am actively involved in advancing the interests of men and women at the NSW Bar. I served on a NSW Bar Association Professional Conduct Committee for 8 consecutive years, and have served on numerous other Bar Association committees including as an office-holder. I accept briefs from solicitors and direct briefs from in-house, corporate and government counsel, and registered charitable organisations.
