As an ESL teacher with the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) in the Kakuma refugee camp Transit Center, I provided effective English-language instruction to refugee students. I was also responsible for monitoring and evaluating student progress, providing valuable feedback to help them grow and improve. I created a positive and supportive learning environment where students felt comfortable asking questions and participating in class discussions. My goal was to ensure that every student was given the support needed to succeed in their English language studies.I was committed to ensuring that refugee learners received the education they needed to build a better future. In addition to teaching, I worked closely with other teachers, support staff, and stakeholders to meet the needs of refugees in the camp. Through my work, I significantly impacted the lives of refugees in the Kakuma camp and helped them reach their full potential.

As a Senior Community Safety and Security Supervisor, I played a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of the community. I provided training on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) prevention and community safety to ensure everyone knew the measures they could take to stay safe.I also maintained accurate records of sector activities and shared them with relevant stakeholders to keep them informed of the latest developments. As the supervisor, I oversaw community peace and protection teams, ensuring they aligned with the sector's goals and working effectively to maintain peace in the community.I demonstrated strong leadership skills and fostered team collaboration, encouraging them to work together to achieve the best results. In case of security incidents, I made sound decisions that ensured the community's safety.Finally, I maintained clear communication with NGOs, refugees, and implementing partners to ensure everyone was on the same page.

As a community health promotion worker in the WASH sector, I delivered health and hygiene education to refugee populations. I participated in health promotion campaigns and communicated the best hygienic practice messages to households. I conducted needs-based assessments of a target group of refugees to determine their unique health and hygiene requirements and developed targeted programs to meet these needs. I designed and implemented health and hygiene programs. I had to establish strong relationships with community leaders and stakeholders. I collected and analyzed health and hygiene data for further analysis. I provided training to community focus groups and WASH sector committees. I would Liason with the other implementing partners operating in the refugee camp for comprehensive health promotion programs.

As a Community Development Worker in the refugee camp, I was responsible for promoting social change and improving the livelihoods of the refugee population. My role involved conducting community outreach activities to engage with the refugees and understand their needs, concerns, and aspirations. To achieve this, I organized community meetings, focus group discussions, and surveys to gather important information.One of my key responsibilities was encouraging and empowering the refugee population to participate in community activities, initiatives, and programs that promote social change and improve their livelihoods. I facilitated community-based organizations, women's groups, and youth-led organizations to encourage collaboration and engagement.In addition to promoting community involvement, I was dedicated to ensuring that community groups living with disabilities, people with particular needs, and other minority groups were included in society and felt a sense of belonging. I provided support and resources to help these groups overcome any social and economic barriers they may face.
