Almost 15 years experience in the Steel Manufacturing industry. Daily duties include; safety observations of crane and work area; stock taking and rotation; time management; checking stock physical location tallies with SAP system; using SAP, Excel and Word; operation of Overhead Magnet Crane to load billet skids and offload rail wagons; liaising with shift managers and co - workers regarding order changes and stock length changes during shift; ensuring there is sufficient stock to cover current orders; ensuring the correct stock goes into the corresponding order; keeping full and exact paper copies of all work carried out on shift; ensuring a smooth handover of operations to next shift.For the last 4 years I have been seconded by my Warehouse Manager to help out in several roles, acting as a Stock Controller, TQM Analyst, 5S Coordinator & Unit Trainer. The past 6 months have been dedicated to a Stock Control role. My duties have included creating Excel sheets to track KPI's, daily Stock checks, auditing of daily reject lists, performing monthly audits with Internal Control department, identifying errors made by production, identifying and monitoring Stocks in the Warehouse, blocking & unblocking bundles using SAP, rectifying errors in counts, reporting issues to QC department. I also create SOP’S, Job Aids & Work Procedures. I have a good understanding of Excel and Word and have been using SAP effectively for many years. I have also been involved in several ‘M' Projects for the company using GANTT charts, Fishbone diagrams, Action Plans, CEDDAC & PDCA to track improvements and results made by these projects. These have been:- Reducing Weighbridge to Weighbridge Times – over the course of 2 years the average loading times of lorries entering and leaving site was reduced from 259 minutes to 182 minutes, an almost 50% reduction. Improving 5S in Logistics – the team came up with a simplified training session to introduce all new employees to the 5S theology.Improving Health & Safety across Logistics – the team identified the 3 main causes of accidents within the Logistics department and made real progress in improving employees awareness of these dangers and reduced incidents by 30% across the year of the project.
