Hello, I am an excited and eager recent graduate from San Diego State University. In acquiring my B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, I have had the pleasure of obtaining experience through projects from the university, clubs, and NASA's L'SPACE academies. Team-based projects at SDSU range from analyzing the structure of a double-lobe aircraft for a modification, managing the design of a close air support aircraft that must satisfy all requirements of a system requirements document, and assessing motor and propeller efficiency of a quadcopter that must perform a mission with an attached 2-kilogram glider. Being a part of the Design Build Fly (DBF) club at SDSU, I decided to be involved in the manufacturing process of the aircraft model that competes in a competition established by AIAA. I handled the fabrication of kevlar, fiberglass, and carbon fiber prototypes of the fuselage and wing. I also produced the pathways for the avionics of the aircraft model to attach from one component to another throughout the aircraft. From both NASA's Proposal Writing and Evaluation Experience (NPWEE) Academy and Mission Concept Academy, I learned how to work in large teams. In NPWEE, I presided in the design of an algae system concept that is meant to provide oxygen for the International Space Station and for future space missions without the reliance on oxygen tanks. I coordinated with my team and reached out to subject matter experts to provide guidance in the making of a preliminary design review. Mission Concept offered the exploration in a lander mission concept that targets the Tiger Stripe region of Saturn's Moon, Enceladus. As a deputy project manager, overseeing the progress of the engineering, science, and finance team allowed me to gauge how projects develop from conception to creation. Organizing the timeframe of the project was conducted through Gantt charts, which enabled a steady workflow due to accounting for setbacks in milestones throughout the project. My next step is to obtain an occupation in Aerospace Engineering where I can apply my passion in learning and applying concepts involving the space and defense industry.
