There are close to half a million people living in care homes in the UK. I love that I work for a company that helps to make their lives - and those of the people who look after them - better every day. I have worked in the Healthcare sector all my working career, since leaving school, when I joined my father in his shop selling mobility products. I later moved on to work for DCM Healthcare in Derby supplying specialist medical equipment to local authority occupational therapists. In 2013, DCM became part of the Nursing Hygiene Group, which supplied nursing and medical care consumables to care homes nationwide. In April 2020 I joined Acticare at the start of the Covid pandemic, when clients were reaching out for help due to the pressure of maintaining a consistent supply chain. After so many years in the industry, the care home supply business is firmly baked into my DNA. This is why I’m so committed and passionate to ensure we always deliver the kind of products and services that I know will make the lives of care home staff and their residents and their families simpler, safer and better. We carry this through with our clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, which means you are always assured of the very best service, attention to detail and quality products. In my role as Client Relationship Manager, I will always do whatever I can to ensure our valued customers receive the products they need when they need them. A client recently said to me that she knows I will “always get things sorted.” Comments like that are why I do what I do. I thrive on helping people, satisfying clients, and being thought of as a trusted advisor who will always find a solution. I know that care homes have many options when it comes to choosing their suppliers, but I genuinely believe that the superior quality of the products, care, and service that Acticare provides positions us as a reliable supply partner for any care home operator.
