The fundamental job of teaching is to teach students how to develop their ability to think critically, solve problems, make informed judgments, and create knowledge that benefits them in the future. In order to create a productive atmosphere, students must feel they are in a safe and respectful environment. Managing student behavior is a crucial element for academic learning therefore teachers must review, remind, and enforce all rules of behavior for all students. In addition to managing the class, a well planned teacher will create lesson plans with clear learning objectives. These objectives should also include adaptations and materials to meet the interest and learning styles of each student. The objectives must be clearly communicated and obtainable. Teachers should also create various, assignments and projects to enrich learning Grading various assessments of students, such as classwork, homework, tests, quizzes, essays and projects will identify mastery of a subject or allow teacher to working with students one-on-one when they need extra attention. Additional responsibilities include maintaining positive relationships with students and their parents. Communication can be in the form of verbal or written and should be logged. Parents should understand that we are in a partnership with them and the goal is a well rounded student.
