I worked with individuals with mental health disorders in the inpatient psychiatric hospital on various units as well as the adult and pediatric emergency departments. I maintained a therapeutic milieu on the units as well as provided crisis intervention, healthy coping mechanisms, and de-escalation tactics.

I worked with a young adult with Rett Syndrome by assisting with her activities of daily living as well as training future caregivers. I joined the company in June 2018 and worked through the family 2013-2018.

I completed a 560 hour, 14 consecutive week internship under the Recreational Therapy department. I utilizied the APIED process while working with the geriatric population on 4 separate units. For my project, I created a customized communication device for a patient.

I was a camp counsellor/classroom assistant at a therapeutic camp for children with autism spectrum disorder. I facilitated social interactions between ten campers and implemented guidelines of Applied Behavioral Analysis.

I did a preceptorship working with individuals with traumatic brain injuries by observing, assisting, and implementing activities under the supervision of the Recreational Therapist.

I did a preceptorship working with the geriatric population by observing, assisting, and implementing activities under the supervision of the Resident Programs Coordinator.

Under the supervision of the Activities Director, I assisted as well as lead scheduled activities for the residents.
