Head Start Program Accountant
Current• Establish and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal agencies and associations to remain current on issues that affect Head Start program and services.• Produce and track monthly reports indicating status of the Head Start program and related grants, including variance explanations.• Enter expense reports into Paylocity Payroll System. Authorize salary increases and adjustments each pay period, and provide administrative support as needed for timesheet editing prior to payroll posting.• Fiscal Manager of CACFP program which includes: creating and entering annual budget on website, troubleshoot with agency on any inquiries during review process until budget is accepted. Process and enter monthly reimbursement claims onto website and record receivable in finance system.• Develop and prepare a variety of financial and administrative reports as needed for any of the Head Start Program federal, state or local reporting needs or internal reporting requirements.• Review / Approval of coding for expenses, deposits and batch entries.• Create journal entries as appropriate and obtain approval from Controller.• Liaise with program staff to ensure appropriate contract coding /allocation of salaries and expenses.• Examine grant activities for compliance with management plans and granting agency policies.• Coordinate and prepare annual / re-submitted program, grant and contract budgets for assigned programs.• Coordinate import of program and agency budgets into the accounting software.• Prepare grant income/expense projections used in budget development and other financial planning activities in accordance with Head Start strategic planning.• Provide accounting support and communication interfaces for capital budget expenses.
