Serve as a member of the LEO Executive Team assisting the Department Director with the major strategic initiatives across LEO agencies with particular focus on outreach to key stakeholders to build support for priorities and projects that impact LEO’s strategic plan. In addition to serving as an advisor to the Director, I play a pivotal role with Deputy Directors and other in Department leadership, helping them to develop and execute external engagement plans that engenders greater support for LEO’s work.

Shaped the narrative around what a thriving economy in Flint & Genesee County looks like from three unique angles. First, by representing the interest of over 1100 members from our business community amongst different government officials/agencies at the local, state, and federal level to influence/create policies that we believe are crucial for any business within our region to be successful. Secondly, executed an aggressive economic development strategy that’s geared towards attraction & retention efforts around business and talent, while placemaking downtown Flint into an area where people want to live, work, and play. Lastly, ensured our organization remained relevant amongst our members and within the community by being intentional about how we engage with different community organizations & leaders so that we can continue to be a trusted voice on behalf of our members.

Built a framework around Diplomat’s government engagement by executing a comprehensive, proactive government affairs strategy that advanced Diplomat’s legislative priorities with local, state, and federal government agencies and elected officials while strengthening Diplomat’s brand within the Flint community by identifying mutually beneficial opportunities to tie Diplomat’s company-wide goals and initiatives to existing efforts in the local community.

Advanced U.S. Sen. Stabenow’s legislative and political priorities by providing substantial political guidance through the daily congressional agenda of complex interdependent issues for staff and the senator, coordinating a successful 2012 re-election that resulted in the senator winning with 58% of the vote, and ensuring that the senator received due credit for legislative achievements and recognition for her efforts on behalf of constituents.
