Through them and a host of other partners, we have delivered much, not least the globally acclaimed Nuart (Aberdeen) International Street Art Festival, but also the first 'evening & night-time economy' strategy of its kind in the UK.In July 2017, Aberdeen Inspired was named the European Bid of the Year in Berlin. In June 2021, Aberdeen Inspired was successful at ballot and renewed as a BID for a further 5 year term, with an overwhelming 90% of levy payer votes in favour. Show less

For the last 7 years, I was the Chief Superintendent for Aberdeen City and with that directly led the policing organisation in the North-East of Scotland through the transition from a regional entity to Police Scotland. As the Commander in Aberdeen, I had responsibility for policing the North Sea and led on several of the major incidents that required a multi-agency response and attracted global interest. Previous to that, I spent a great deal of time as a Senior Investigation Officer within Criminal Investigation and Intelligence. I was an active Strategic ('Gold') :- firearms; public order; football (/events) and CBRN Commander.I led on counter terrorism, criminal justice reform, community planning and public protection in the North East of Scotland. I led on many local and national cross-sectoral partnerships and had secondments to Scottish Government and the then Scottish Business Crime Centre (SBCC). I also carried out overseas assignments.
