About Adriana Leigh

Adriana (Aviva Galina) Leigh is an international award-winning changemaker, thought leader and Founder and Principal Consultant at ALG Consulting. She brings 20 years of diverse global experience as a workplace human rights lawyer and facilitator in gender equality, the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, and gender-based violence prevention and diversity, equity and inclusion. She has vast experience working nationally and internationally with the United Nations and international aid organizations, in addition to the private and public sector.As a policy advisor, she helps organizations develop inclusive trauma-informed policies and processes including policies on gender-based and other forms of identity-based harassment and discrimination prevention and workplace wellbeing, with specific expertise in developing reporting mechanisms to build a safer, ‘speak-up’ culture.As a facilitator and learning and development designer, she is an expert in building the skills necessary to implement policies, improve empathetic communication, prevent and respond to harassment and discrimination, and resolve conflict across difference. She draws on heart, humour, and deep subject matter and human rights education expertise.A natural facilitator, at once positive, passionate, forceful, articulate, and pragmatic, clients respond most favourably to Adriana’s candor, sense of humour, warmth, and knack for communicating concepts practically, building capacity and identifying gaps in policy and culture. Adriana was on World Pulse’s list as one of 21 Women Leaders to Watch in 2021, and received a 2022 Digital Changemaker Award as one of the World Pulse 50 Rising Voices. In both 2022 and 2023 Adriana was a recipient of a Brainz Magazine CREA Global Award honouring social justice leaders who are paving the way in innovation, diversity, equity and inclusion, and mental health. She holds a Civil and Common Law degree from McGill University, an Honours B.A. in International Development from Dalhousie University, a Master’s Certificate in Adult Training & Development, is a Certified Training Practitioner (CTP) and has been trained in Nonviolent Communication, mediation, creative facilitation and the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse.
