With a marketing career spanning 28 years and with approximately 15 years of marketing employment remaining, I am keen to ensure that I continue to work in fields that really matter. Beginning my career within Midland Bank and HSBC gave me a robust grounding. I am incredibly grateful for the investment they made in my career development, general management, leadership and technical marketing training. This enabled me to build a marketing career utilising every tool imaginable in an environment where collaboration with stakeholders, partners, suppliers and agencies was essential. The key for me was to turn marketing and the organisation around from product push to be completely customer focussed. This was possible because we were able to access comprehensive activity data and both quantitative and qualitative research. This experience allowed me to move on into consultancy and then establish a full service ethically based sustainable marketing agency. This then led onto using my marketing skills to promote cycling through the establishment of CyclingAge, Monster Bike Events and The Freewheel - the UK's first cycling pub.Following these entrepreneurial exploits I became Head of Marketing at Cycle Training UK working as part of the leadership team.Specialities: Marketing - strategy, leadership, management, communications, external, internal, digital, social, direct, email, event, online, research, holistic, planning, green; business management; change management; creative ideas; customer champion; content management; copywriting; data analysis; media planning; PR; entrepreneurialism; financial analysis; sustainability.
