Major mobile equipment utilised by Majwe includes 3x Bucyrus 495HR2, 5x Atlas Copco PV351, 52x Komatsu 930E-4, 1x LeTourneau L-1850 Gen2, 1x Caterpillar 6040.Expatriate asset management engineering role, providing engineering support and management of cost to complete for the mobile mining plant. Key Responsibilities within role: • Developing life of project asset models and forecasting cost to complete to ensure true cost of operating was understood. • Management and controlling of cost expenditure to ensure budget targets were achieved. • Identifying major risk and rewards associated with operating the client’s owned fleet and developing action plans to achieve the desire results. • Engaging with OEM’s to deliver improvements in machine reliability, component rebuild turnaround timeframes and improvement innovations. • Managing, supervising and mentoring National Graduate Engineers. Leighton’s was contracted to handle all mining operations at the Sonoma Mine. Major mobile mining equipment utilised was 1x Hitachi EX5500, 3x Liebherr R9350, 1x Liebherr R994B, 15x Caterpillar 789C, 3x Caterpillar 789B+ and 6x Caterpillar 785C.Mechanical Engineer, responsible for planning and scheduling of maintenance activities for mobile plant at Leighton’s Sonoma Coal Mine project. Key Responsibilities within role: • Planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance activities, component replacements, safety inspections, and defect repairs. • Generating the three-week rolling maintenance schedule. • Managing condition monitoring, including: monitoring scheduled oil samples and magnetic plug inspections, analysing trends, proposing corrective actions, and determining early component failures. • Implementing improvement initiative projects such as: energy efficiency trials and LED front head light replacement trials. • Writing and developing supporting information documents for scheduled preventative maintenance; parts required, type of oil used and quantities, and location of filters.
