I am z/OS Senior Systems Programmer with 30 years’ experience in the IBM mainframe environment. I am currently working in the Mainframe Services division of BMC Software supporting a number of clients on both short-term and long-term support projects. My roles include performing a Storage Management role for a major UK high street retailer and providing general z/OS and ISV software support for a number of our clients. I am also responsible for supporting the z/OS environment used by Mainframe Services.I have a wide range of skills in IBM Mainframe technology, including the latest z/OS releases. My responsibilities have included mainframe hardware configuration & software installation, maintenance, configuration, and rollout. My Systems Programming knowledge includes z/OS, z/OSMF, RACF, SMP/E, DF/DSS, UNIX System Services, ISMF and a range of software from multiple ISV’s.I have been responsible for the planning and installation of a number of z/OS installations, up to current releases, a z13s processor upgrade and a disk migration to an IBM DS8870 subsystem. Also, a migration from the z13s to a server based zPDT system running multiple lpars under z/VM.Part of the work that I've undertaken, was to install and configure z/OSMF in a multi sysplex environment.I have experience of z/VM, sufficient to add or maintain guests along with their disk requirements.I have also attended several the IBM Techu zSeries conferences in Munich and Berlin, and the GSE conference in the UK and have developed a good relationship with a number of key staff within IBM in the z/OS area.
