Experienced IT Professional with strong business and technological fundamentals that is able to adept quickly and efficiently to various technologies due to my fundamentals learnt as a developer. One of core fundamental skillsets I bring to an organisation is building the knowledge base that the team can use to reduce siloing in the environment. With this knowledge I mentor team members to expand their skillsets and share the responsibilities in managing the environment to remove the onus on one person. Unfortunately (fortunately?), I leave no stone unturned and raise potential operational and security risks and performance or cost optimisations to the business where possible. This has lead me to rebuild backup solutions, optimise group policy, fix monitoring and mend as -built solutions as issues arise. This has lead me being an SME for many hats such as Active Directory, backup, PKI, VDI, Exchange, Ansible, VMware and various other displines in the organisations I work at. I have a strong Cyber Security focus assisting with Cyber Security teams to find workable solutions that satisify both operation and cyber security functions. I use documentation from NIST, CIS and Australian Signals Directorate to shape any operational decisions to work with the Cyber Security team to achieve the best results for the organisation.With the diverse skillsets, I can operate in a SRE position to identify and recover services in a short notice and roll out fixes/deployments in a timely but controlled manor. I can use debugging toolsets like WinDBG(with mex), gdb, strace, dtrace, etc to find the root cause to restore services. For example, settng up Windows Error Reporting to capture the IIS crashdump to then determine that a SCOM agent management pack was causing the issue.
