Hello! 🌞I'm a Behavioral Intervention and Support Specialist for at-risk youth in a therapeutic group home. My daily routine consists of communicating with staff, supervising the youth, documenting progress, and redirecting negative behaviors. I teach youth how to communicate and socialize appropriately so they can build healthy rapports with their peers, staff, and community members. I write daily progress notes updating the resident's progress towards their goal and treatment plan as well as updating the staff communication log each shift. I lead daily groups in varied topics such as mindfulness/DBT, CBT, and independent living skills. I transport residents to appointments, visits, and various outings. I have made medication sheets, updated documents and filing systems, kept track of inventory, performed weekly balance checks, answered calls, and cleaned/organized the house and office. I am certified in de-escalation techniques through Right Response and am certified in First Aid/CPR. I have participated in many trainings about human development, psychology, medication administration, LGBTQ+ culture, diverse populations, and suicide prevention. Aside from my interest in psychology, I am freelancer specializing in photography and design! Art and design has a special place in my heart, forever and always.
