I was the lead research coordinator and project manager for a multi-site patient experience study with a budget of $1M.Notable points: - Conducted 100+ user experience interviews with patient families. -Lead coordinator / project manager for one of the most complex studies running at the 2nd ranked Children's Hospitals in the country. -Manage 7+ project personnel. -Recruited to manage another $1M study that was undergoing a personnel and data management overhaul.-Co-lead 30+ community-based research advisory board group of parents of preterm infants.-Designed first completely electronic consent form offered at Cincinnati Children's (as opposed to the standard paper consent for research studies). -First author on a poster presenting data findings at the Ohio Collaborative for the Prevention of Infant Mortality Summit in 2018. Position Details: The aim of this multi-site study is to better understand a family's experience during the transition from Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to home. To do this, we interview families three times starting a few days before discharge and ending 2 months after discharge. As the lead project manager, I'm responsible for ensuring all study tasks are completed. In addition to conducting interviews, I track all 60 families and schedule interviews as appropriate, on board new hires, order all study-related materials, oversee REDCap database management, and pay study partners. I also analyze and summarize study statistics and report to a diverse group of stakeholders on a bi-weekly basis.

I worked on GIS mapping, market research, and communications for AEP Economic & Business Development (AEPED). I helped in the redesign of AEPED's website, which went on to win a Bronze Excellence in Economic Development Award in the general purpose category from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). My work included updating 30+ maps and data, creating and designing new infographics, and updating new property listings.The large project I was tasked with as a Graduate GIS Intern was managing the creation of 12 economic development property reports, doubling the prior number of available properties. My tasks included facilitating communication between engineers and 11 different AEP territory managers in states outside of Ohio, synthesizing reports into marketing flyers, and publishing flyers to the website. The remainder of my time was spent completing ad hoc mapping requests from various AEPED personnel.

In my time as an intern with Cradle Cincinnati, I led the creation of 3 online, interactive maps detailing infant mortality data by census tract in Hamilton County. The software I was most familiar with-- ArcGIS-- was not available in this role. So, I researched a free alternative-- Google Fusion tables-- and taught myself how to use it. This includes learning the coding necessary to display the maps on Cradle's website. While the data has been updated since my tenure with Cradle, the use of Google Fusion tables for this purpose is still used years later. I also helped research Hamilton County infant sleep practices, using both quantitative and qualitative methods. Finally, I curated an annotated bibliography of the current research into issues related to infant mortality, such as safe sleep, pregnancy spacing, and smoking cessation.

2-1-1 provides an incredibly detailed database of community, health and human services, such as food pantries, housing assistance, infant resources, and much more. When I joined as a community resources specialist, I was responsible for abstracting, indexing, and updating these detailed community resources for 4 counties. Throughout my tenure, I ended up being responsible for roughly 700 resources spanning 9 counties across Ohio. During the expansion process, I led the acquisition of 2 of the counties. This meant researching the community, visiting the location, building the database, and training my colleagues on the community. One project I'm particularly proud of is transitioning the 2013 Youth Pages: Guide for Cuyahoga County Teens to mobile app (50,000 print copies, mobile app). Tasks included co-leading focus groups with high school students, creating original content (4 of 172 pages), and delegating information verification tasks among staff. Helped to successfully transition from print edition to mobile app, resulting in a 50% increase in funding from sponsors. Finally, I was also charged with maintaining all utility listings. Every season, I handled 100% of the questions and concerns regarding any changes to programs by with the Ohio Department of Development. This required intensive database management skills, and I gained certification as a community resource specialist from the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS).

I served as an intern to this think tank at a time education policy was often in the spotlight with conversations around the Common Core curriculum. A highlight of my work here was working on the publication "Needles in a Haystack: Lessons from Ohio's High-Performing Urban High Schools". To support data gathering, I performed 30% of the site visits-- touring the schools, speaking with teachers and students, and taking photos used in the piece. To support writing and editing, I transcribed all the interviews quoted, created all the summary charts for the 6 schools profiled, and edited all 82 pages of copy.A more consistent role I was charged with during my tenure was contributing to the daily blog and bi-weekly newsletter. I would analyze and summarize education policy reports, particularly the ones affecting Ohio's schools. Finally, I assisted in the planning of an event on "lessons learned" during the staggered transition to Common Core curriculum. The event was attended by over 350 professionals with interests in education: school administrators and teachers, as well as education policy representatives.
