Being at home with my two boys for the past few years has helped me re-connect with my more creative side and vision a work scenario that better synthesizes with my family and my background in sustainability. The result? I've launched Adrienne K Design, helping clients create homes that reflect their style and values in their homes, highlighting unique pieces by local Portland makers and designers, and focusing on sustainable materials and solutions.My background includes nonprofit marketing and communications, museum work, architecture marketing, community outreach and branding. I have been involved with sustainability work in Portland for 10 years. My experience includes working with businesses to implement sustainable practices from within and working with community organizers to inspire sustainability within their communities. As Marketing Director for the Oregon Environmental Council I redeveloped OEC's brand, positioning the organization to significantly expand membership and to cultivate broader recognition in Oregon. During my five years at the organization, I also employed online outreach strategies to significantly increase web visits and establish trust as a valuable resource for reliable information on environmental health, green living and community action around environmental issues. I convened a group of advisors made up of PR, marketing and polling experts in the Portland area, to help direct OEC's ongoing marketing efforts.Specialties: Interior decorating, branding, communications, community outreach, writing, editing and developing publications.
