I am Aparna Agrawal: an advocate, social worker turned social entrepreneur. With a wealth of experience garnered from five years practicing law in both Delhi and the Madras High Court, I seamlessly transitioned from the courtroom to the community.From a young age, my passion for volunteer work was ignited by accompanying my mother, a doctor, on missions to offer polio drops in the slums of Delhi. This early experience instilled in me a sense of compassion and a desire to effect positive change.In 2018, my advocacy reached new heights as I represented the role of young people in policy advocacy at the United Nations General Assembly, focusing on their sexual and reproductive health rights. This global platform allowed me to amplify the voices of youth and advocate for a more inclusive and equitable world.Beyond my global advocacy efforts, I have worked to effect policy changes at ministerial and headquarters levels, advocating for improvements in occupational safety and health policies. My dedication to upholding justice and protecting the rights of individuals and communities has been evident throughout my career, as seen in my appointments as a Local Commissioner in multiple cases.In 2022, I took a bold step forward by founding Chap Foundation, an NGO dedicated to revitalizing rural communities in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through Chap Foundation, I focus on creating employment opportunities for women artisans while offering immersive experiences for tourists in Indian villages. My move to the village of Naggar near Manali reflects my wholehearted engagement with the community, where I empower women in the Kullu district through skill training, personality development, and access to market spaces.My journey as an advocate and social entrepreneur has been deeply rewarding, reinforcing my commitment to driving positive change and making a lasting impact in the lives of others. I firmly believe in the power of collective action and collaboration to create a more sustainable and equitable world.
