CivicHelp And Progress Foundation, (commonly referred to as Chap) is an NGO empowering woman and children and, enabling Responsible Tourism in the villages of Himachal Pradesh. We started our activities with a two day cultural festival called, ‘Shobla Bana’ comprising of stitching, knitting, and crochet competition along with singing, dancing, fitness competition and cultural walk in April 2022. The star moment of this show was ‘Own Your Laptop Challenge’, where 5 young girls were awarded refurbished laptops donated by our supporters. This festival received an overwhelming response of more than 200 participants and about 1000 visitors.( For details please visit www.chapfoundation.org)
Since then, we have been conducting various activities related to Responsible Tourism and empowering Rural communities. Like working with different SHGs, digital skilling of young girls through volunteers and spreading awareness among Homestay Associations. Our efforts have been recognized by International Center for Responsible Tourism and we were awarded for,’ Better Building Back Destinations’ by Minister of Tourism, Madhya Pradesh in September 2022.
