Specifically quantifying crop morphology when grown with manipulated air and root-zone temperatures as well as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to determine how to produce high-quality plugs and liners for Midwestern growers while saving energy and operational costs.

Co-managed the tropical greenhouse that contained 13,000 Metrolina-contracted Boston ferns as well as geraniums, mandevillas, dipladenias, and much more. Daily duties consisted of, but not limited to, watering, fertilizing, mixing stock fertilizer, taking inventory, pruning, scouting, mixing and applying pesticides/plant growth regulators (PGRs).

University Of Georgia

Assisted the Master Composter with UGArden's compost piles. This included turning and grinding compost piles with tractor implements, taking the temperature, weeding, and collecting carbon substrates. Additionally assisted around the farm with various projects including mowing, fertilizing, weeding, tilling new beds, planting, sowing seeds, watering, harvesting and leading volunteer groups.

Worked between UGA's Horticulture, Plant Pathology, and Entomology Departments for a summer internship. My supervisors were Extension Viticulturist Specialist - Dr. Cain Hickey, Extension Fruit Disease Specialist - Dr. Phil Brannen, and Extension Peach Entomologist Specialist - Dr. Brett Blaauw. For Viticulture, I managed vineyard canopies in 5 different vineyards across North Georgia and took data such as light measurements, berry size samples, point quantitative analyses, and lateral shoot measurements.For Plant Pathology, I traveled across Georgia to blueberry, apple orchard, and peach orchard sites to collect samples of mummy berry, bitter rot, and scab to later research in the lab.For Entomology, I traveled across 5 various vineyards and apple orchards, analyzing Brown Marmorated Stink Bug population numbers.

Located on the University of Georgia's North Campus. Assisted the garden curator, Karen Bryan, with weeding, mulching, and watering the garden. Educated passersby about the range of exotics the garden inhabits and their medicinal properties. Lead student volunteers around the garden to complete various tasks.
