Yea, my first step on the path of this thing I call a "career" was selling those, in all their super cool metal colors.Along this path I found myself at the epicenter of multiple AT&T + Apple = iPhone Launches.There is a .gif somewhere that illustrates something I witnessed in real-time: the radical 15+ year marketshare shift from a well-populated OS mobile phone environment to "and then there were two" (RIP SymbianOS...also, Windows Phone 8, that one was pretty fun too).Then the path forked and I found myself in the world of marketing (I guess that B.A. in Communications really paid off after-all! Score 1 for Liberal Arts).This path has offered many wonderous sceneries. From the vantage point within start-up digital agencies (themselves nestled within traditional media ecosystems) to full-scale marketing agencies; as an independent student of copywriting and brand strategy; to an ethnographer embedded deep within a rather lively and fun roofing/construction culture on the outskirts of the Texas Hill Country.Elsewhere throughout the course of this path, I helped open a seafood restaurant (fondest memory was our spot getting soul-validation on its gumbo when a Hurricane Katrina-displaced family commented that it was the best gumbo outside of NOLA); as the only male cashier at the local Sam's, I was also the de facto back-up cart pusher; I barista'd -- I dare you to get me started about iced drink and how NEAR EVERYONE BOTCHES IT!; I pushed insurance, too; oh, and I started "land-scaping" (ist et, helping my dad with his yard-work side-hustle) at the age of 9 (oh, and he paid atrociously).And, if there is one truth to be found as a constant -- from the early days of on-hold with Amp'd Mobile for an average of 45 minutes to activate a new phone to the present-day running of a whole marketing department -- it is this: TABLE EVENTS NEVER END!
