I invited all the students I saw to follow up after our review for further feedback. Alex was the only one who followed up. I was so impressed with his portfolio that I offered him a 6 weeks internship at EAVE (which was extended a further two weeks to 8 weeks total). Alex mainly worked with me on a project brief I set looking into a future product we're developing. Working mostly independently on the project with multiple work reviews over the week. Digging into the context and semiotics of the project Alex was able produce a wide variety of concepts both on paper and using Solidworks. With the printers in our studio he was also able to prototype and test some of his concepts in house. This created a nice foundation of ideas that we'll be able to work with in the early design stages of this project. Alex is a hard worker, easy going, mild mannered and is able to focus on his work independently, delivering work at given deadlines. I'm looking forward to seeing how Alex has progressed as a designer over his final year at university and I'm sure his design career will be long and fruitful. I would recommend Alex as a great addition to a design team."
