Undertook a 4 month coding bootcamp with School of Code where I significantly improved my skills as a developer and built multiple projects. This culminated in a four week product build where as a team 6 we designed, coded and deployed an app that helped people who wanted to learn how to build eco friendly tech solutions. Examined issues the customer service team was facing with payments, collated and analysed the relevant data and made a clear implementation plan to reduce load for the customer service team.

Westminster

I spent two months working in Miss McDonagh’s Westminster office with a focus on casework. This required me to write to a multitude of organisations including the local council, housing associations, HMRC, the Department for Work and Pensions and the Home Office. With others in the office I was also required to queries on the phone from constituents.

Worked for a month as a public affairs and marketing intern at Kangaroom a new room search engine site. This role has included contacting the press in order to promote coverage of Kangaroom’s services; using SEO techniques in order to increase brand awareness and jointly managing the company blog, twitter and Facebook accounts to engage directly with potential consumers.

Chiswick Park

Worked for a month in the public affairs department, the role included: writing press statements about new releases of products from Starbucks; contacting charities that Starbucks aimed to engage with; responding to journalists’ queries and helping to organize Starbucks events such as coffee tastings for journalists following the release of products. I also viewed how Starbucks’s social media strategy works and how they aim to relate with customers. This internship greatly helped to improve my organizational skills in helping to set up events and my ability to communication as I had to coordinate with a plethora of organizations.
