Impact on Education is a highly respected non-profit organization focused on leveraging community resources to increase student learning and community support for public education in the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD). Impact on Education is renowned for its innovative and creative programs which provide opportunities for students of low income families to address the achievement gap, help prevent student dropout, use innovative technologies to increase student learning, empower teachers, and honor excellent educators. The Executive Director is responsible for the organization's consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives and for planning and directing the activities of the organization, executing the vision and policies of the Board of Directors, fund raising, advocacy and overseeing the operations of the organization including programs, financial administration, marketing, public relations and community outreach.

With a specific expertise in organizational management and multi-modal transportation and a deep understanding of urban issues, Allison assists clients with a range of projects and programs as an advisor, manager and implementer.Allison advises on organizational strategy for her clients and manages studies, programs and initiatives on their behalf. She has led and managed the rollout of a bike share program, conducted several studies of parking and transit needs, overseen the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies, and directed research efforts to better understand national and international best practices and local trends. She has been the recipient of millions in grant and foundation dollars and has managed the requisite fulfillment and reporting. She often steers the strategic direction of organizations and programs and helps her clients do the same.

As Senior Vice President for Neighborhood Development, Transportation & Sustainability for Charlotte Center City Partners, Allison was responsible for engaging Center City’s residents and businesses and advocating on their behalf, as well as for Center City Partners’ sustainability and transportation programs.Allison and her team strengthened neighborhood involvement, promoted urban living, and identified and resolved public safety issues and infrastructure deficiencies. Allison’s work relied upon strong relationships with public agencies, elected officials and partners.

Allison managed transportation studies, programs and initiatives on behalf of her client. She launched Charlotte’s bike share program which generated over 32,000 trips in its first year. She oversaw a study of parking needs in a transit-oriented neighborhood and the roll-out of a real-time parking and wayfinding system. She represented CCCP's interests in a number of forums and was always tracking transportation projects that impacted Charlotte's urban center.

Innovative Urban Strategies, or IUS, specializes in sustainable transportation efforts, including the development, implementation and analysis of transportation demand management, parking management, and multi-modal transportation programs as well as transportation market research, funding strategies and stakeholder engagement. Clients include public agencies, private sector businesses, commercial developers, special-purpose districts, and transit agencies.IUS offers clients a unique combination of specialized knowledge and broad-based, national experience in designing and evaluating innovative transportation programs. IUS leverages the best advantages of all modes of travel; the design and performance of effective communications and outreach strategies; program development and assessment; and educational and training programs for organizations and individuals.Recent projects include a plan and communications strategy for regional electric vehicle readiness, and a review of sustainable transportation programs at major multinational corporations.

Allison's role included work on a variety of transportation demand management (TDM) projects across the southeast. Specific responsibilities included bringing together stakeholders to create a regional brand for transit and transportation options in Raleigh-Durham, launching a parking collaborative among private parking deck owners and operators in Charlotte, and optimizing transit and TDM opportunities as part of an Environmental Impact Statement in Atlanta.

Allison led an internationally recognized Transportation Management Association (TMA) in Denver, Colorado. Her duties were wide-ranging, from program management and policy development to community outreach, program evaluation, funding strategies and overall management of the association. Some projects included the creation of Colorado's first indoor bike parking facility, the introduction of an annual educational and fundraising event featuring national speakers, the creation of a comprehensive TDM program at the University of Denver that reduced parking demand by 15% and doubled the number of transit passes distributed.Allison was honored with the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) award for Outstanding TMA in 2006 and the 2007 Champions of Transit Award from the Regional Transportation District (RTD). Before relocating to Charlotte in 2008, the Denver City Council issued a proclamation recognizing Allison's contributions to the City and her success creating win-win opportunities for developers and neighbors.
