Involved in the development of medical device specifically on self-test rapid test kit as part of the strategic plan of the organisation. The stages involved during the development of a new product includes identification of a suitable medical device that is currently in demand (requires extensive market research and analysis), identification of a target protein for a specific disease of interest and identification of a suitable materials to embed the identified protein in a membrane.Another responsibility for this position is to handle a project for Good Distribution Practice for Medical Devices (GDPMD) where I need to keep abreast on the Medical Device Act 2012 (Act 737) implemented by Malaysia Medical Device Authority (MDA). The rules and regulation includes, but not limited to, registration and packaging of the medical device, advertisement of medical device and technical evaluation. This project requires me to understand about the ISO 13485:2016 standard.

Supervising students for their Final Year Project (FYP) on the proposed research projects is part and parcel of being a lecturer. Ensuring that the students are being equipped with the research and laboratory skills is the main objective during this FYP. Hence, the 6 tiers of Bloom Taxonomy need to be carefully executed.

This is a new project under the National Key Economic Area (NKEA) by which the NKEA wanted to develop the very first Malaysia Monograph Compendium. The project is conducted in the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)- standard laboratory which follows every steps stated in the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
