I led a team of East Africa analysts, delivering actionable insights on political, security, and operational risks. My role involved overseeing monitoring services and providing tailored consultancy to clients across diverse sectors, including Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. I regularly conducted field research in Africa, delivering in-depth market entry studies, corruption risk assessments, and long-term threat forecasts, such as civil war analysis in South Sudan and the spread of al-Shabaab in East Africa. My work significantly enhanced our clients' strategic decision-making and risk mitigation strategies.

I played a key role in the development of the Political Risk Atlas, the company's flagship publication of quantitative risk indicators and models, where I led the analysis and authored critical sections. Within the consultancy practice my work included advising Fortune 500 companies on how to identify, assess, and mitigate political risks, with a particular focus on governance, security, and economic challenges in Africa.

I was responsible for the collection, analysis and dissemination of open source intelligence in support of the European Commission’s role in monitoring compliance and enhancing transparency within the diamond trade (Kimberley Process). I designed and implemented an automated system to monitor and analyse activities related to the mining and trafficking of diamonds in Sub-Saharan Africa. My work involved collecting, filtering, and synthesising open-source intelligence, including news reports, social media, and satellite imagery, to provide comprehensive insights.
