The focus of the research was on the new shear resistance models for reinforced concrete structures, proposed for the second generation of the Eurocodes. In particular, the main tasks performed were as follows:-Analysis of an existing database with test results about the load carrying capacity of reinforced and prestressed concrete beams.-Based on these experimental data, identification of statistical parameters.-Describing the uncertainties with bending and shear resistance models.-Strict design of a representative set of concrete beams in accordance with the Eurocode rules on basis of design, actions on structures and resistance of concrete structures, including the proposed shearresistance model.-Determination of the probability of failure for each of the representative failure mechanism for all the strictly designed beams, thus obtaining the level of reliability implicitly required by the code rules analysed.-Assessment of uncertainties associated with resistance models for reinforced and prestressed concrete beams and their influence on structural reliability.-Evaluation of model resistance uncertainties for corroded-damage reinforced concrete beams.
