About Andy Petrie

I bring over 25 years’ hands on experience in the planning, delivery and management of major infrastructure and services, through all stages of the development and asset life-cycle.Working in both the private and public sector I have developed a keen understanding of what is really needed to get a job done. I focus on how to identify and cut out effort that adds cost but no value, but still achieves the right outcomes. Bringing my subject matter expertise in systems safety and safety assurance combined with my leadership skills, I take pride in helping our clients develop and deliver fit for purpose processes that are simple and efficient, provide real value and cut out unnecessary bureaucracy. I have worked in both major project and operational roles and gained extensive knowledge of systems, assets, and transport operations. As well as managing complex rail systems, and operations I have worked in major civil construction, nuclear, oil & gas, aviation, and other high hazard industries, particularly in the analysis of risks to the public to inform evidence-based decision making. I am a Chartered Safety Professional, a Chartered Engineer, am registered on the National Engineers Register and am a Certified Associate of the Asset Management Council. I am an industry leader in systems-safety, systems engineering, and risk management focusing on planning, developing and delivering resilient transport networks and maintaining public safety.
