I am currently working as an Engineering Support Specialist/CNC Designer for a company that specializes in enclosures, tanks, sub-frames, and silencers for generators using a program called SigmaNest to efficiently nest various gauges of sheet metal designed by engineers to be cut out on a plasma machine for fabrication. My duties include working with engineers to properly nest their design by proofreading their blueprints and distinguishing the correct parts are being utilized. Preparation of job folders which includes all blueprints, quality inspection documents and SOP's for release to shop floor for fabrication, assembly and final inspection. I have an Associate Degree of Applied Science in the field of Computer Aided Drafting from ITT Tech. I graduated in the year 2000 and worked as a Cartographer for three years. This job gave me the opportunity to experience different types of software to add along with my Office product skills, and also heightened my attention to detail. After that job I worked for ABX Air Inc/DHL for six years as a airport ramp worker. When this company decided to do a mass layoff I decided to return to college for a possible rewarding career in the Nursing field. After a couple of years taking classes I realized I was not cut out to be a Nurse and then pursued more with the technical degree I already possess. I continued taking classes online at CTU while working part-time. As I was needing to go back full-time to work I put on hold my classes and joined a company I work for now that has given me the opportunity to exapnd my knowledge of current skills and has provided me with more skills for a possible advancement in my career as an Engineering Support Specialist/CNC Designer.
